Removing Dell PowerEdge T110 Server Motherboard
- Turn off the system and attached peripherals, and disconnect the system from the electrical outlet.
- Open the Dell T110 Server Motherboard.
- Remove the expansion-card stabilizer.
- Remove the cooling shroud.
- Disconnect all cables from the system board.
- Remove the cooling fan.
- Remove the processor heat sink.
- Remove all expansion cards and any attached cables.
- Remove all memory modules.
- Remove the processor heat sink.
- Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the ten screws securing the system board to the chassis and then slide the system board toward the front end of the chassis.
- Grasp the system board by the edges of the system board and lift the system board out of the chassis.
Installing Dell PowerEdge T110 Motherboard
- Unpack the new Dell PowerEdge T110 system board.
- Remove the labels from the processor shield and affix them to the system identification panel on the front of the system.
- Holding the system board by its edges, lower the system board into the chassis.
- Slightly lift up the front of the system board and maneuver the system board to the bottom of the chassis until it lays completely flat.
- Push the system board toward the back of the chassis until the board is in place.
- Tighten the ten screws to secure the system board to the chassis.
- Transfer the processor to the new system board.
- Replace all the memory modules and memory blanks.
- Connect the cables in the order listed below
a. SATA interface cable, if applicable
b. Control panel interface cable
c. Optical/tape drive power cable
d. System board power cables - Install all expansion cards.
- Replace the cooling fan.
- Replace the heat sink.
- Replace the cooling shroud.
- Replace the expansion-card stabilizer.
- Close the system.
- Reconnect the system to its electrical outlet and turn the system on, including any attached peripherals.
