Description
Dell R430 R530 Motherboard
A system board (also known as the motherboard) is the main printed circuit board in the system with different connectors used
to connect different components or peripherals of the system. A system board provides the electrical connections to the components in the system to communicate.
Removing the system board
Do not attempt to remove the TPM plug-in module from the system board. Once the TPM plug-in module is installed, it is cryptographically bound to that specific system board. Any attempt to remove an installed TPM plug-in module breaks the cryptographic binding, and it cannot be re-installed or installed on another system
board.
Keep the Phillips #2 screwdriver ready.
Remove the following:
- cooling shroud
- memory modules
- cooling fan cables
- expansion card riser
- integrated storage controller card
- heat sink and processor
- internal dual SD module
- Disconnect all other cables from the system board.
- Take care not to damage the system identification button while removing the system board from the chassis.
- Remove the nine screws on the system board and slide the system board toward the front of the system.
- Hold the system board t-handle and lift the system board out of the chassis.
- To prevent damage to the system board, ensure that you hold the system board by its edges only.
- Do not lift the system board by holding a memory module, processor, or other components.
Installing Dell R430 R530 Motherboard
- Hold the system board by its edges and the system board t-handle, and angle it toward the back of the chassis.

wall of the chassis, and the screw holes on the system board align with the standoffs on the chassis. - Tighten the nine screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Install the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). See the Installing the Trusted Platform Module section.
Replace the following:
- Internal dual SD module
- Heat sink/heat sink blank and processor/processor blank
- Expansion card riser
- Expansion cards
