Description
Arista QSFP-40G-SR4 40GbE Transceiver
The Arista QSFP-40G-SR4 is a high-speed 40GbE QSFP+ transceiver module optimized for short-range multi-mode fiber (MMF) connectivity. It supports data centers, enterprise networks, and campus environments. Additionally, it operates at an 850nm wavelength, ensuring reliable 40 Gigabit Ethernet performance. For instance, it achieves up to 150m over OM4 MMF or 100m over OM3 MMF, ideal for low-latency, high-bandwidth applications.
This hot-swappable module features an MTP/MPO-12 male connector. It uses four 10 Gbps channels, delivering a total of 40 Gbps bandwidth. Consequently, it supports 40G to 10G breakout connectivity for switches, routers, and servers. Moreover, Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) provides real-time insights into temperature, voltage, and optical power. Thus, it enhances network reliability and performance.
Compliant with IEEE 802.3ba 40GBASE-SR4 and QSFP+ MSA SFF-8436, the QSFP-40G-SR4 ensures compatibility with Arista devices and other MSA-compliant equipment. Furthermore, its low power consumption, below 0.7W, promotes energy efficiency. As a result, it reduces operational costs in large-scale deployments. The module uses a high-quality VCSEL laser transmitter and PIN photodiode receiver, ensuring robust signal integrity.
The QSFP-40G-SR4 is RoHS-6 compliant and lead-free, adhering to environmental standards. Its hot-pluggable design simplifies installation and upgrades, minimizing network downtime. For example, it excels in data center interconnects, mobile backhaul, and ISP aggregation. Therefore, it offers a cost-effective solution for high-speed networking needs.
Rigorous testing guarantees compatibility and reliability in demanding environments. Additionally, the module supports data rates up to 44.8 Gbps, accommodating applications like 40G Ethernet and OTU3. Hence, it provides flexibility for various network configurations. In conclusion, the Arista QSFP-40G-SR4 delivers exceptional performance, scalability, and efficiency for modern 40GbE networks.
