installing or replacing a TPM, observe the following guidelines:
• Do not remove an installed TPM. Once installed, the TPM becomes a permanent part of the system board.
• When installing or replacing hardware. HP service providers cannot enable the TPM or the encryption technology. For security reasons. only the customer can enable these features.
• Returning a system board for service replacement. do not remove the TPM from the system board. When requested. HP Service provides a TPM with the spare system board. Read more in our Blog…
To remove the system board:
- Remove the top cover.
- Loose the nine screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
- Slide the system board back, up and out of the chassis. Remove the system board from the chassis.
To reinstall the system board:
- Align the system board I/O connectors to their openings and slide the system board into place.
The nine screw holes on the chassis should align with the system board. - Fasten the nine screws on the system board to secure the system board to the chassis.
